Shae Marks

Shae Marks was discovered at the gym, and one look at her photos tells you why. Born on 1 June 1972 in New Orleans, Louisiana, the city of jazz, spice and sultry nights, she grew up with Southern charm in her smile and plenty of fire in her blue eyes. By the time she was twenty she was living in Houston, Texas, and appearing in an advertisement for World Gym, where a Playboy photographer spotted her toned, curvy body and knew he had found something special.

In October 1993 she flew to Los Angeles for a test shoot, and the results were so impressive that Playboy chose her as Playmate of the Month for May 1994. Readers were treated to a spring centrefold bursting with energy: tumbling hair, a radiant smile and a figure that combined athletic strength with spectacular curves.

Her pictures are a perfect mix of Southern sweetness and Bourbon Street heat. Shae poses with the confidence of a woman who works hard on her body and is proud to show it off, flexing, stretching and lounging with a playful, knowing grin. She went on to become a favourite of Playboy's Special Editions, appearing in titles such as Book of Lingerie, Girls of Summer and Voluptuous Vixens, and she travelled the world as an official Playboy representative.

Television and film soon wanted her too. She guest-starred in shows including Married... with Children, Renegade, Viper and Baywatch, and played a major role in the sci-fi series Black Scorpion. She also starred in the action films Day of the Warrior and L.E.T.H.A.L. Ladies, appeared in the comedy Love Stinks, and even made an appearance on WWF Raw as a wrestling valet, strutting to the ring in front of millions of fans.

She retired from the spotlight in the mid-2000s, but her photos still sizzle. This gallery brings you the New Orleans beauty at her spicy, sun-kissed best.
