Larissa Riquelme

Football has produced many unforgettable moments, but few as sexy as Larissa Riquelme at the 2010 World Cup. Born Larissa Mabel Riquelme Frutos on 22 February 1985 in Asunción, Paraguay, she was already a successful model at home, the face of Axe deodorant in Paraguay and one of the country's best-paid models. Then a single photograph made her famous around the planet.

During the World Cup in South Africa, photographers captured her cheering on the Paraguayan team, a mobile phone tucked into her tight, low-cut football shirt, her dark hair flying and her curves front and centre. The picture went viral overnight. Newspapers called her the "girlfriend of the World Cup", fans around the globe searched for her name, and Larissa became the most talked-about supporter of the entire tournament.

She knew exactly how to use her new fame. That same year, in September 2010, she posed nude for the Brazilian edition of Playboy, a pictorial that fans had been dreaming about since the first viral photo. Out of the football shirt and into nothing at all, Larissa revealed the full splendour of her figure: generous curves, smooth bronzed skin, long brown hair and the sultry brown eyes of a true Latin bombshell. She poses with passionate, fiery confidence, giving the camera a look that is half invitation, half challenge.

Her popularity spread across South America. She competed on Bailando por un Sueño, Argentina's version of Dancing with the Stars, where her sensual moves on the dance floor drew huge audiences, and she worked in theatre in Asunción. She later moved into football commentary, combining her two great passions: the beautiful game and being beautiful.
